Eyup!

It's good to be back :)

Dancing was excellent - as always on these camps I get a decent notch higher on the how-good-I-(think-I-)am-at-dancing-stick. Many of you may have seen the rather creepy picture of myself as a granny-type for the Friday-night big dance at the camp... But here it is again:

Sadly I'm missing a couple of events this weekend but not without good cause - going up to have a fun weekend in Liverpool with Ruth is easily worth several dances and classes! ALSO I've just been booked into Twinwood Festival again this year (here's last year's entry on it) at the end of August, which will be very exciting compared to a year ago - two stone lighter now and much much better at swinging out! Hopefully I'll be brave enough to ask strange (heh!) men to dance, as our usual leads can't make it for the whole weekend this time...

Being on Dad's boat was also lovely, for the first time in about 3 years - the glorified floating caravan is one of my real 'homes' - it's SO familiar, the shape, the smell, the plaque with my name on it over my cabin bunk. He's had it since I was really rather small and it still surprises me that my toes can now touch the other end of the bunk with my head remaining on the pillow.

What else is new.

Oh, am off to IKEA tonight (IKEA! Almost needs its own label on this blog) in order to get a new mattress. Not very exciting really but my current mattress is a lump of rubbish floppy foamy dented-down-the-middle rubbish (it was also from IKEA. I never learn. It was cheapish though and not sprung). I've even hired a man-with-a-van to help me bring it home; he's a tenner cheaper than IKEA's home delivery and I don't have to wait at home for him during work hours. Wheee!

Finally it looks like work has decided I'm off probation and worth keeping. More fool them! Ah-haha!

PS: Added a comment to Mark Easton's blog on the UK - he speaks a lot of sense, that man. Either that or he's positive propaganda, and I'm naïve. Although I prefer being a little too idealistic than a bit too cynical.... Anyway, I'm comment number 3 here.

More dancing, Stockholm, woop for summer hols :)

'Moff for a fortnight this Saturday - not that I post enough for anyone to miss me - but just in case anyone wonders where I am...

...mind you the dance camp has an internet café, dad's place is hooked up to broadband, and if the weather holds up long enough to get out to sea on dad's wee chug-chugging house boat, then /maybe/ I'll be out of mobile/data range for, ooh, 3 days max.

Who'm I kidding, wonder where I am? Miss me? No one will get a chance! You'll all be busy enjoying the peace and quiet...
